Vitalik Buterin, the co-creator of the Ethereum cryptocurrencycurrency, has gotten people’s attention after moving substantial amounts of Ethereum from his personal cryptocurrency wallet.
According to blockchain observers PeckShieldAlert, Buterin moved 30 Ethereum to Railgun and exchanged 27.63 Ethereum for 100,000 USDC.
With Ethereum currently trading at over $1,800 per coin, these transactions are worth millions of dollars. Buterin has previously stated that fluctuations in his wallet do not always indicate that he is personally investing or trading.
The Ethereum founder has donated his cryptocurrencycurrency fortune to charitable organizations, blockchain projects, and other worthy causes.
A notable example is Buterin’s donation of $1 billion in Shiba Inu tokens to India’s Covid-19 relief operations in 2021. He has also sponsored platforms like Gitcoin, which provide money to open-source blockchain developers.
Some of Buterin’s Ethereum was transferred to the Ethereum base layer, which is the basic element of the network that processes transactions and smart contracts. The cryptocurrency mastermind could simply be reallocating cash, but traders will keep an eye out for price changes.
