London-based fintech player Revolut announced ‘Revolut X,’ its new cryptocurrency-trading platform for UK retail consumers. This follows an earlier announcement of its service, Revolut Ramp, in March, in conjunction with Consensys, that will increase the capacity of customers to acquire cryptocurrencycurrencies directly within Web3 wallets.
Integrating Crypto Trading for UK Clients
The platform, which is now available on desktops for UK users with Revolut retail accounts, includes digital assets that are already available on the Revolut retail app, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP, with plans for further development.
The platform is available from a PC to anyone holding a Revolut retail account and provides trading in more than 100 tokens. Revolut X offers a pricing scheme with no charge for makers and a 0.09% fee for takers, regardless of trading volume. At debut, the platform will trade the same cryptocurrencycurrencies as its retail app, including Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP.
Revolut, a money transfer service started in 2015, has moved into cryptocurrency trading since 2017. Rapid growth has spread the service to over 40 million customers internationally. Revolut X marks a new development in its path, seeking to match large cryptocurrency exchanges with its user-friendliness and cheap costs.
Revolut’s development of an independent cryptocurrency exchange puts it apart from other banks that offer cryptocurrencycurrency trading, presenting it as a pioneer in the fintech sector’s engagement with digital currencies.
