The Polkadot community has introduced $PINK, a new memecoin, into the ecosystem to encourage interaction and enjoyment. $PINK, called after Polkadot’s RGB color code, has 2.3 billion tokens distributed through airdrops to prominent parachains and community members.
In the playful online game PINKDROP, players combine bouncing balls representing various parachains to form the ultimate “Polkadot ball.” For PINKDROP players, 15% of the total $PINK supply is reserved, with additional cash granted for reporting high scores on social media. In just one month of play, the game has already had over 225,000 sessions from 14,000 unique users.
Twelve percent of the tokens have been distributed to fourteen parachains that fit the criteria, including Moonbeam, Bifrost, and Astar, for use by their users. However, it extends beyond free tokens. PINKDROP is a unique Play-to-Earn game included in the $PINK package.
The good times don’t stop there: three Polkadot games and three external ones, including Shockwaves.ai, receive 2.5% of the tokens, which are donated to gaming communities. Polkadot’s desire to integrate GameFi reflects the company’s ambition to become a big player in the gaming blockchain.
The memecoin community is laying the groundwork for a new PINKDROP league mode, complete with daily tournaments for $PINK prizes, to raise awareness and encourage involvement in a fresh, gamified method. $PINK embodies the dynamic, innovative energy of the Polkadot ecosystem.
