A 23-year-old cryptocurrencycurrency enthusiast plans to climb Mount Everest and place a Bitcoin flag at the summit to promote global financial literacy.
Dadvan Yousuf published his ambitions in a February 28 social media post, claiming that he hopes to hike Everest between April and May of this year. He purchased his first Bitcoin in 2011 and has significantly increased his cryptocurrencycurrency assets since then.
The climber claims he will pack away all rubbish and equipment to reduce his influence on Everest’s ecosystem. He intends to emphasize the “global disparity in access to financial education” by displaying the flag.
Yousuf was born in Iraq and now operates a business in Dubai. His reported net worth surpasses $300 million.
Overtourism and litter have become serious issues on Everest in recent years. Yousuf is determined to preserve the mountain’s pure ecology.
Other cryptocurrencycurrency climbers have attempted similar publicity stunts on high summits to raise awareness. In 2018, some climbers attempted to establish a cryptocurrencycurrency wallet on Everest’s top.
