Speaking on Monday at the Web Summit Qatar 2024 conference, famed comedian and host Trevor Noah admitted that his “biggest mistake” was not buying in Bitcoin when prices were incredibly low.
Noah bemoaned not learning about cryptocurrencycurrencies earlier, when Bitcoin was almost free. He wrote: “Not buying Bitcoin early was the ‘biggest mistake I’ve ever made.'”
The entertainer’s remarks came as Bitcoin reached $56,700 on February 27 and its market capitalization surpassed $1 trillion. While price remains 18.5% below its all-time high, Bitcoin has experienced consistent investor inflows into cryptocurrency ETFs and growing excitement over the approaching “halving” event.
On The Daily Show in 2021, Noah discussed NFTs to his viewers: “Essentially, what you’re buying with an NFT is a long digital receipt that has your transaction along with every transaction that has ever happened.”
Noah was confirmed as a guest speaker at the Web Summit Qatar 2024 earlier this week. The tournament will be held in Doha from February 26 to 29.
The emerging comedian talent is well-known for hosting The Daily Show and performing stand-up shows. His disappointment at losing out on Bitcoin’s early days exemplifies the widespread interest in cryptocurrencycurrency as asset prices rise.
