On Friday, the Ton (TON) Foundation announced a partnership with cryptocurrencycurrency exchange Hashkey to provide on- and off-ramp options to Telegram wallet users. Toncoin’s recent rise into the top ten cryptocurrencycurrencies by market capitalization has prompted the alliance.
Now, HashKey and the Foundation wish to prioritize Hong Kong. If things go well, they intend to expand into other parts of Asia-Pacific.
Telegram once owned the TON blockchain, but because of legal issues, they were forced to discontinue development. The TON Foundation then took over, with Telegram’s assistance.
Toncoin’s value increased little after they announced their cooperation, but it has since fallen slightly, as has the wider cryptocurrencycurrency market.
