The United States government is one of the largest Bitcoin holders in the world, with 210,392 BTC worth approximately $14.4 billion in total assets.
According to Ki Young Ju of CryptoQuant, Government agencies like the IRS and the Department of Justice haven’t sold any Bitcoin since July 2023, which has increased unrealized gains by a factor of 2.4.
The government’s address, according to Arkham platform experts, is purportedly holding 215,245 BTC, or roughly $14.8 billion, in addition to 50,147 Ethereum, 10.14 million USD Coin, 5.36 million Dai, and 2.27 million Tether.
The government recently announced plans to sell 2,934 BTC connected to the Silk Road case in January, transferred BTC from the hacker on the Silk Road to Coinbase in March 2023, and sold 9,861 BTC in April. Furthermore, in February, 15,085 BTC that had been taken from the Bitfinex exchange hacker were moved.
The aforementioned advancements highlight the noteworthy involvement of the United States government in the cryptocurrencycurrency domain and its tactical management of digital assets.
