Trust Wallet has sent out a serious warning to Apple users, advising them to disable iMessage right away, in response to reliable information on a zero-day attack. Apple customers are being alerted by Trust Wallet.
A screenshot posted by CEO Eowyn Chen purportedly shows a $2 million asking price for the claimed exploit. Nonetheless, industry insiders began to doubt the validity of Trust Wallet’s evidence.
Citing “credible intel,” the company suggests that customers turn off iMessage to guard against hackers taking over their phones. This exploit poses a major risk, particularly for high-value account holders, as it can harm iPhone users without any link clicks.
This alert follows Apple’s emergency security upgrades released last month to address zero-day vulnerabilities in iOS that were used in attacks. Security researchers have seen that hackers have previously attacked iMessage.
Despite doubts, over 1.2 million people viewed Trust Wallet’s alert in just four hours, indicating that it was well received. The company made it clear that their partners and security staff, who routinely monitor risks, provided them with the information.
Over 280 blockchain networks are susceptible to zero-day vulnerabilities, possibly putting billions of dollars worth of cryptocurrencycurrencies at risk, according to cybersecurity firm Halborn. The warning from Trust Wallet emphasizes the continuous requirement for strong security measures in the digital sphere.
