The developers of TON blockchain have announced a 2.5x reduction in transaction fees, which will lower the cost of using the network. Transaction fees for Toncoin are now dollar-value based; the first transaction costs $0.06, and each successive transaction costs $0.04; starting April 16, USDT transactions have been discounted.
In order to reduce resource consumption and related costs, we also intend to directly incorporate well-known C++ smart contracts into nodes. In spite of these improvements, the price of tonnecoin dropped 11% to $5.50 from its most recent high of $7.65 on April 11.
On April 16, rumors of lower user fees started to circulate, which increased interest in TON’s advancements.
Amid news of support for USDT and planned features including gas-free transactions, Wallet 5.0 updates, and Teleport cross-chain technology, this decline persisted, losing about 10%.
