In the last seven days, Starknet, an Ethereum Layer-2 network, has seen a notable decline in active users due to growing complaints about its Starknet Provisions Program airdrop.
According to Starkscan data, The number of active users increased from less than 20,000 on February 9 to around 220,500 on February 14, when users and Airdrop producers clogged the network in an attempt to receive an issuance.
Although Starknet stated that the airdrop of STRK tokens is scheduled to begin on February 20, the number of active users fell to levels that were close to the announcement, with little over 84,000 accounts as of February 19.
Concerns have been voiced by the Starknet community about the requirements for eligibility for their airdrop. On November 15, 2023, users with less than 0.005 Ether (about $10 at the time) in their accounts were not eligible to get tokens.
Several individuals who were active on Twitter and the project’s Discord channel expressed their anger at not being able to receive token distributions despite having made large transactions and adding liquidity to the network by reaching the minimum wallet balance criteria.
