The popular sports magazine’s ticket division, Sports Illustrated Tickets (SI Tickets), has reintegrated Box Office, the NFT ticketing platform, from Polygon NFT to the Avalanche blockchain. Not too long after the platform’s formal introduction on Polygon, this decision is reported to have been made.
Emin Gün Sirer, the inventor of Avalanche, responded to Polygon by stating that “Sports Illustrated needed a coin that functions,” even though the exact reason for the move is still unknown. In December 2023, the blockchain game Pegaxy will migrate from Polygon to Avalanche, following the Sports Illustrated coin. This will result in a renewed rivalry between the two projects as a result of the latter.
Sandeep Nailwal, a co-founder of Polygon, has publicly criticized Avalanche for alleged flaws that he claims are the primary distinctions between the two networks. SI Tickets guarantees that, despite its replacement, the Box Office on Avalanche will focus more on guest interactions and will be better than anticipated. This is because Avalanche with its current features such as collectibles, highlights, and loyalty benefits—will make interactive events more enjoyable.
