Co-founder of Samourai Wallet Keonne Rodriguez recently appeared in court and refuted allegations of money laundering and operating an unauthorized money-transmitting enterprise. The plea deal was filed in the Southern District of New York U.S. District Court.
At the hearing on April 29, Milla Rodriguez was freed on a $1 million bond and additional travel limitations were placed on him, allowing him to travel only within designated areas of New York and Pennsylvania.
His movements will be limited while he is confined to his Pennsylvania residence and is being monitored. Before Jones gives his consent, Rodriguez won’t be allowed to conduct any cryptocurrencycurrency transactions or offer Samourai Wallet’s services.
It demonstrated how American authorities are becoming more stringent when it comes to bitcoin mixers, who are frequently charged with money laundering. After their detention, Rodriguez and William Hill revealed that the government was keeping a closer eye on cryptocurrencycurrency use. Rodriguez was scheduled to appear in court on May 14, and the trial has continued.
