After the recent Bitcoin halving event, Peter Schiff, who is well-known for criticizing cryptocurrencycurrencies, went to the social networking platform X and targeted “Bitcoiners.” Condescendingly congratulating Bitcoin owners, Schiff enquired as to whether they were now “throwing parties.”
“Congratulations Bitcoiners on the Halving” Do any of you guys have parties tonight to celebrate this occasion? No invitations have been extended to me,” Schiff wrote.
As of this writing, Bitcoin’s price is $64,150, down 0.1% over the last hour but up 2.4% over the previous 24. This is according to statistics from CoinMarketCap.
Now that the miners’ payouts have been slashed in half, Schiff made fun of Bitcoin owners by claiming that “HODLers” will soon have their “net worths halved.” Schiff made these remarks following the completion of the fourth Bitcoin halving event. It happens around every four years.
