The Nigerian House of Representatives committee recently proposed an arrest warrant for Binance executives.
According to recent reports, Binance has faced charges of money laundering, illicit operations, and tax avoidance.
Ginger Onmwusibe, the committee chairman, stated that the exchange had declined multiple requests to appear before the committee and answer questions about the charges made.
He stated that the committee will suggest that the House use its authority to subpoena and arrest Binance executives if they do not present.
Furthermore, the exchange has been accused of facilitating unlawful transactions and has requested $10 billion from the corporation, which the Nigerian government denies. The Central Bank of Nigeria has also accused Binance of manipulating the foreign exchange market.
Despite the ongoing conflict, the exchange’s operations in the region have not yet halted.
