Moonbirds, a newly purchased NFT by Yuga Labs, intends to implement a significant change to its copyright policy. This implies that the former CC0 copyright regime, which permitted free commercialization, will be replaced by the Moonbirds owners’ exclusive rights to market their NFTs.
Following the adoption of a CC0 copyright license by Moonbirds in 2022, this about-face occurs. This license permitted third parties to distribute, duplicate, show, and create derivative works using the CC0 products for commercial purposes.
In a recent news release, Moonbirds mentioned a shift to commercial rights in relation to their ongoing community projects, such as Yuga Labs’ CryptoPunks and the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
The Moonbirds reevaluate the art directions in addition to upholding the copyright policy. This suggests creating 3D avatar robots for animations and possibly incorporating them into the Otherside metaverse developed by Yuga Labs in the future. The goal of Moonbirds is to bring genuine valuables to the platform in order to spark community interaction and make it easier for people to connect the virtual and physical worlds.
