MicroStrategy currently has 205,000 Bitcoin after purchasing 12,000 more. At today’s Bitcoin pricing, the software company’s Bitcoin treasury is worth almost $14.7 billion.
The number of companies having publicly stated Bitcoin treasuries has been rapidly increasing. However, it is difficult to overestimate MicroStrategy’s dominance in the field of corporate Bitcoin stashes. Its 205,000 BTC stockpile exceeds that of all 44 firms tracked on Bitcoin Treasuries.
Keep in mind that this list contains every publicly traded Bitcoin miner, such as Marathon Digital, Hut 8, and Riot Platforms. It also includes Tesla, the cryptocurrencycurrency exchange Coinbase, and Block, Inc. (led by Bitcoiner Jack Dorsey).
“We’re buying it for a hundred years. “That $66K to $16K crash shook out the tourists,” MicroStrategy founder and chairman Michael Saylor said in a CNBC interview Monday morning. “That shook up the nonbelievers. We were all prepared to ride it all the way to zero when it reached 16,000. And this is what you’ll see among Bitcoin maximalists.”
MicroStrategy now has more Bitcoin than BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, which it uses to support its ETF. However, in order to maintain that honorific, MSTR would have to continue buying Bitcoin at a rapid pace.
Last week, the company stated that it was aiming to fund $600 million to buy additional Bitcoin. However, the product performed far better than the business had anticipated. MicroStrategy, which trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker MSTR, stated in its Monday SEC filing that the offering was “upsized to a total of $800 million.”
MSTR shareholders seem pleased with the news. At the time of writing, the stock was trading at $1,504.42, up 6% from the previous closing on Friday afternoon and 110% higher than it was this time last month.
The recent Bitcoin price increases have undoubtedly improved MicroStrategy’s share price. Bitcoin jumped beyond $71,000 this morning, followed by $72,000 a few hours later, making it practically impossible to make a definitive call on BTC’s new all-time high.
