The Humanity Institute is launching a novel “proof of humanity” protocol based on exclusive hand scanning technology in partnership with Polygon Labs and Animoca Brands. The Ethereum Virtual Machine (zKEVM) blockchain, a new zero-knowledge-proof blockchain, is being built by ensuring that user identities are validated without requiring cumbersome methods such as iris scans.
The human verification technology used in this story is comparable to Worldcoin (WLD), developed by Sam Altman. The sole distinction is that, in contrast to worldcoin, which uses human iris for authentication, here the human palm is being scanned.
The user-centric strategy is emphasized by Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca Brands: “Our privacy may be violated by the identifiers for proof-of-personhood that are currently available.” The goal of the Humanity Protocol is to create a decentralized environment that distributes power and promotes inclusivity and equality.
The aim of this partnership is to develop a suite of web3 solutions, such as DAO, RWA, DeFi, dESO platforms, on-chain gaming, and DePIN systems. The protocol will soon be made available on the testnet.
