According to a lawsuit, while Amazon MGM Studios, formerly known as Amazon Studios, went on strike from July 14, 2023, until November 9, 2023, artificial intelligence (AI) was allegedly employed to impersonate actors’ voices.
Lance Hill, a co-writer of the 1989 action movie “Road House” in the United States, has filed a lawsuit against Amazon Studios alleging copyright infringement and improper use of AI in the planned film adaptation.
The producing business, however, has denied the charges and plans to fight back in court.
As per a report by EW, Hill claims that Amazon started working on the “Road House” remake before getting the necessary licenses or waiting for the copyright to expire.
The voices of the actors in the movie are allegedly artificial intelligence (AI) creations. A representative at Amazon MGM Studios denied the complaint filed by R. Lance Hill, stating that it was without merit and that many of the claims were incorrect.
Furthermore, Hill stated that in order for Amazon to reach the November 10, 2023, deadline for the Road House adaptation, AI was used by the company in place of performers when they were on strike.

The spokesperson made it clear that artificial intelligence (AI) was not used to substitute the actors’ voices in the film and that they were prepared to contest any accusations leveled against them. Furthermore, a person from EW who wishes to remain anonymous discussed the possible application of AI in the early phases of production. However, the source also stated that Amazon recommended the filmmakers to remove any AI elements from the finished film.
