Aligned Layer, a startup billed as a “universal verification layer for Ethereum,” raised a $2.6 million seed funding round.
The investment was led by Lemniscap, a seasoned cryptocurrency and blockchain firm. According to the announcement, the funding would allow Aligned Layer to speed up its mainnet debut, which is scheduled for Q2 2024, and expand operations. As an infrastructure provider, the company intends to reduce costs and increase speed for developers creating Ethereum-based applications, such as layer-2 networks.
Aligned Layer’s revolutionary method focuses on delivering a decentralized ZK Proof verification layer for Ethereum, which is powered by Eigen Layer‘s restaking mechanism. This enables Ethereum stakeholders to reallocate their ETH and Liquid Staking Tokens to improve protocol security.
The seed round was supported by noteworthy investors such as Bankless Ventures, Paper Ventures, and industry leaders.
