Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced an essential conversion of 15 tokens to USDT (Tether). Users have until midnight on April 21 to withdraw affected tokens; after that, withdrawals will not be permitted. Tokens like Moeda Loyalty Points (MDA), Helium (HNT), Mithril (MITH), and others are impacted. Binance will send updates and email notifications once the conversion is complete.
A spokesperson for Binance said, “Binance will update this announcement and send a separate email to all impacted users when the conversion of the aforementioned tokens to USDT is complete.”
Furthermore, Binance has stopped accepting USDC deposits and withdrawals via the Tron network (TRC20). After April 5, USDC stablecoins will not be credited using TRC20. However, trading USDC on Binance is unaffected.
This move comes after Circle said that it will no longer support the Tron network for undisclosed reasons. Users can transfer funds between blockchains or exchange them for fiat currency. Circle intends to continue USDC operations on Tron until February 2025, but without creating additional stablecoins.
